Revisiting the functions of coaching supervision: From capability to capacity in support of CPPD

As coaching becomes increasingly complex, coaches need more than technical competence. This paper examines how coaching supervision can evolve from a focus on capability towards developing the deeper capacity needed to work with complexity, ambiguity and uncertainty. Julia and Elizabeth Crosse propose a framework that brings reflection and reflexivity together, helping coaches examine not only what they do, but how their assumptions, values and meaning-making shape their practice.
